I felt BeerSmith 3, with the addition of mead, wine and cider as well as substantial new beer brewing tools warranted an upgrade. It has been 7 years since I launched BeerSmith 2, and we’ve offered three significant updates during that period for free.
BEERSMITH PRO FULL
I do intend to phase out the “lite” versions of the apps in favor of the full BeerSmith 3 mobile app, as very few users are choosing the lite version. While I would prefer to bundle these with the desktop software, the terms and restrictions set by the major mobile stores don’t allow this. What About BeerSmith Mobile?įor BeerSmith mobile, purchase and licensing will still be a separate purchase via the major app stores (iTunes, Google Play and Amazon).
BEERSMITH PRO LICENSE
Each license comes with two or more device activations, and you can deactivate devices, renew your license or manage license options from your BeerSmithRecipes account, or by logging in and going to the profile page at any time.
BEERSMITH PRO SOFTWARE
When you activate your software it will ask you to open a secure link and log into your cloud account, and then it will tie the activation to your online license. You also have the option when purchasing to sign up for a yearly subscription, which will renew automatically each year.
It only takes a minute and is good for the term of your license. You do need an internet connection to activate your computer. You can manage your licenses by logging into your account here. When you purchase a license, it is added directly to your account.

All Gold, Platinum or Professional member accounts have been upgraded include a BeerSmith 3 license at your current level for the remainder of your subscription term. You will need a new license to use BeerSmith 3. I am also working on online tools and a future online version of BeerSmith that will be available to subscribers at no charge. This replaces the old “bundles” that had a much higher price entry point. You can see a comparison of the options and pricing here:īuy BeerSmith 3The subscription options ( Gold, Platinum, Professional) yearly packages together your BeerSmith desktop license with additional cloud space and also include free major version upgrades for a modest yearly fee. We do a 10 minute whirlpool, a 15 minute rest, and it takes about 45 minutes to rack off.BeerSmith 3 offers four licensing options – a “buy it once” basic option and three subscription options that come with our new web based recipe editor which you can try at, cloud space, free upgrades. Here is what we did.1) brewed a single 60 min addition stout first and calculated theoretical IBUs using Tinseth.then sent to the lab (it was off by 1 IBU).2) brewed a Pale that had the 1 60 min addition and then a whirlpool addition at flameout and sent it to the lab.Beersmith assumed 0, but when I measured about 35% contribution on top of the 60 minute.I've read anything from 25-50%depending on whirlpool and rack off time as well as how vigorous a boil you have etc.but you need to determine what abount of time to add for each hop addition for your own system.for us it's about 15 minutes, maybe slightly less. Therefore you don't want to assume you will get 125% or more utilization off 60 minute additions. I use Beersmith and didn't change the utilization factor at all.this is because of literature that shows that after 60 minutes the alpha acids present in boiling wort are degraded at about the same rate they are isomerized. I researched this extensively and went from 10 gallons to 7 bbls about 3 months ago with a fairly painless scaling up period.
